Growing Notes

• Direct sowing is preferred because annual larkspur develops a taproot and can resent transplanting.
• An optional 7-day pre-chill near 2°C can improve germination; do not soak or freeze the seed.
• Thin to 20 cm, water at soil level and support tall stems early in exposed or storm-prone gardens.
• Do not pinch out the central growing tip. Cut spent flower stems if you do not want vigorous self-seeding.
