Quick Grow Facts

  • Crop: Candy Cane Red sweet snack pepper, Capsicum annuum.
  • Season: start under warmth and plant outside after frost risk has passed and soil has warmed.
  • Sowing: cover seed about 6 mm deep in clean, free-draining mix. Keep the mix warm and evenly moist, not saturated.
  • Seedlings: give strong light after emergence, pot on when true leaves develop and harden off gradually before planting out.
  • Position and care: full sun, freely draining soil and steady root-zone moisture. As general garden guidance, allow about 30–60 cm between plants, adjusting for mature spread and airflow.
  • Harvest: cut sound fruit with clean snips. Green-striped fruit can be enjoyed at a suitable stage or left to ripen red; timing depends on warmth and care.

Keep foliage airy and water at the root. If seedlings stall or flowers drop, check light, temperature, moisture and drainage before increasing feed or applying any registered treatment.
