Quick Grow Facts

  • Crop: Hot Fajita edible potted pepper, Capsicum annuum; medium-hot chilli type.
  • Growth form: Upright, compact fruiting plant, about 25–30 cm tall in breeder guidance; support heavy stems with small sticks.
  • Sow: Start about 6 mm deep in free-draining seed mix; keep the root zone warm, around 27–32 °C for general pepper propagation, and evenly moist.
  • Plant out: Harden off before moving outside after frost risk passes. Indoors, give it strong, direct light.
  • Container: Use a free-draining pot about 15–20 cm across; water when the surface starts to dry.
  • Harvest: Snip fleshy fruit green or leave it to ripen red. Start with a small amount when cooking to judge the heat.

Use fertile potting mix, keep roots out of standing water, and turn indoor pots for even light. Wash fruit before use. Wear gloves if chillies irritate your skin, avoid touching your eyes, and wash hands and tools. Sowing seed is for planting, not eating or sprouting. Brought to you by Ubuntuberg Seeds.
