Why Grow This Variety
- Large white flowers add ornamental value to the crop.
- The breeder describes bright-red, sweet-sour, bi-conical fruit.
- Vigorous cascading growth suits hanging baskets.
- Everbearing plants provide fruit through the season.
Garden Uses
Grow F1 Elan in hanging baskets, containers or garden beds for white flowers and home-grown summer strawberries.
Growing Notes
- Sow on the surface of clean, pre-moistened, low-salt seedling mix. For home conditions, use only a transparent dusting of fine vermiculite; do not bury the seed.
- Maintain 22°C and even humidity without waterlogging. Light is not required for germination, but move the tray into bright light as soon as the first seedlings emerge.
- Do not soak or cold-stratify this stocked cultivar by default.
- Pot on when several true leaves have formed and roots hold the plug together; harden gradually before planting out.
- Set the crown at soil level, space 30–45 cm apart, and use root-zone watering and clean mulch without covering the crown.
