Why Grow This Variety

  • Cherry-red globe roots bring vivid colour and crisp texture to salads and snacks.
  • A 20–35-day packet window makes this a fast cool-season crop.
  • Direct sowing and prompt thinning keep the root round and uncrowded.
  • Short succession rows provide repeat harvests without one large glut.

Garden Uses

Add Cherry Belle radishes to fresh salads or other dishes, or enjoy their crisp, peppery bite as a snack.

Growing Notes

  • Direct-sow 3 mm deep in loose, stone-free soil; do not transplant the retained root crop.
  • Keep the shallow seed zone evenly moist and aim for 15–24°C soil during germination.
  • Use the packet's 10 × 10 cm grid or thin an intensive row promptly to about 3–5 cm where shoulders remain uncrowded.
  • Harvest from about day 20 as soon as roots reach useful size; heat, drought and delay cause pithiness, excess heat and bolting.
  • Protect seedlings from flea beetles with fine mesh and rotate away from other brassicas.

Food use: The harvested root and sound young leaves are edible after washing under potable running water. Seed itself is not food. Follow any treatment warning on the received lot and use only crop controls registered for edible radish in South Africa.
