Growing Notes

• Direct-sow into a fine bed or raise seedlings in clean cells.
• Keep the 3 mm cover evenly moist and thin promptly to the final spacing.
• Transplant sturdy tray seedlings after hardening, keeping them at their original depth.
• Feed moderately during leaf growth, stop nitrogen once bulbing begins and keep weeds shallowly controlled.
• Lift when about half the tops fall, then cure fully before storage.
