Mustard Red Giant Seeds produce Brassica juncea ‘Red Giant’, a cool-season leaf mustard with broad green-ribbed leaves that develop burgundy-red to purple colour. Harvest it young for baby leaf or let plants make larger greens for cooking.
Grow it successfully: Read the Mustard Red Giant baby-leaf and mature-greens guide.

Why Grow This Variety
- Young red-purple leaves add colour and mustard flavour to salads.
- Larger leaves can be cooked in soups, stews, curries and stir-fries.
- Staggered short rows provide a longer baby-leaf harvest.
- The product is treated as the dedicated leaf mustard in the three-product guide.
Growing Notes
- Direct-sow 1.5 cm deep, keep the seed zone evenly moist and thin at 3–4 true leaves.
- Keep growth steady; heat and drought make leaves stronger and bring bolting forward.
- Harvest outside leaves while leaving the crown intact, or cut baby leaf above the growing point.
- Use only crop-protection products registered for edible mustard and observe the harvest interval.
