Quick Grow Facts

  • Growth type: True bulb with upright leafy flowering stems; height and flowering time vary by selection and conditions.
  • Position: Sun or light shade, sheltered from wind, with cool shaded roots and fertile free-draining soil.
  • Planting: For basal-rooting or unknown rooting types, plant at a depth equal to the bulb height; known stem-rooting lilies need about 2.5 times their height; space about 15 cm or three bulb diameters apart.
  • Water: Keep evenly moist but never saturated during active growth; keep dormant potting mix only just moist.
  • Care after flowering: Deadhead spent flowers but retain green stems and leaves until they yellow naturally; stake tall stems early.

All parts, pollen and cut flowers are highly dangerous to cats. Keep completely away from cats and seek urgent veterinary advice after suspected exposure.
