Quick Grow Facts
-
Crop: Khorika Stick, a hot Capsicum annuum chilli type.
-
Growth form: Upright, branching fruiting plant; support stems if fruit or wind makes them lean.
-
Sow: Start about 6 mm deep in protected, free-draining mix; keep it warm, around 27–32 °C for general pepper propagation, and evenly moist.
-
Plant out: Harden off before transplanting into sun after frost risk passes and soil warms.
-
Space: About 45–60 cm between plants, with room for airflow.
-
Harvest: Snip firm, slender fruit at the colour you prefer for fresh cooking or drying.
Grow in fertile, well-drained soil and water steadily during fruit set. Dry fruit thoroughly with a food-safe method before storage. Wear gloves for hot fruit, avoid touching your eyes, and wash hands and tools. Sowing seed is for planting, not eating or sprouting.
