Why Grow Helichrysum Silvery White?
- White blooms brighten mixed strawflower bunches and dried arrangements.
- Excellent everlasting texture with long-lasting papery bracts.
- Works well as a fresh cut flower and dried flower.
- Useful neutral colour for bouquets, borders and cottage-garden planting.
- Attracts pollinators in sunny, well-drained beds.
Garden Uses
Use Helichrysum Silvery White as a clean highlight in cut-flower rows, dried-flower collections and mixed sunny borders. It combines well with rose, sulphur, apricot, orange and red tones where a white flower helps lift the whole palette.
Growing Notes
- Start in trays and transplant carefully once seedlings are strong and weather is warm.
- Bottom water or mist gently so the uncovered seed is not buried.
- Use well-drained soil and avoid overly wet conditions.
- Pinch young plants if you want more branching and higher stem production.
- Harvest when two or three layers of bracts have opened, before the flower is fully mature, especially for drying.
