Quick Grow Facts
-
Scientific name: Solanum melongena
-
Seed form: Raw seed: 5-seed and 100-seed variants
-
Depth and germination: Use the family method of about 5 mm in warm, fine seedling mix; the current packet-label image omits cultural fields, so exact label confirmation remains on hold
-
Final spacing: 61–91 cm
-
Growth form: Upright, semi-spineless and indeterminate; 91–132 cm high and 61–91 cm wide
-
Support: Optional but useful for a heavily laden plant in a bed or large container
-
Harvest outcome: Glossy white fruit: 8–10 cm baby size or 10–15 cm full size; 55–60 days from transplant. This replaces the unqualified 60–90-day live claim
Why Grow This Variety
Harvest the glossy white clusters at baby or full size while the skin is bright and firm.
Growing Notes
Start in a protected tray, harden seedlings over 7–10 days and transplant only after frost danger has passed and nights are reliably above 16 °C. Grow in full sun in fertile, freely drained soil. Feed moderately, water consistently at flowering and fruit set, and avoid a late high-nitrogen push.
