Why Grow Cosmos Picotee?
- Soft picotee-style markings add contrast without overwhelming mixed plantings.
- Excellent for sunny borders, informal meadow-style beds and cut-flower rows.
- Attracts bees, butterflies and other pollinators.
- Easy to grow from seed and forgiving once established.
- Regular picking or deadheading encourages more flowers.
Garden Uses
Use Cosmos Picotee behind lower bedding plants, through pollinator plantings or in a dedicated cutting patch. It pairs beautifully with zinnias, marigolds, sunflowers and other warm-season annuals, adding movement, height and a gentle two-tone finish.
Growing Notes
- Direct sow into prepared, well-drained soil and keep evenly moist until seedlings are established.
- Avoid overly rich feeding; Cosmos can become leafy and soft if pushed too hard.
- Deadhead or pick flowers regularly to encourage a longer flowering display.
- Protect young plants from frost and stake taller plants in exposed, windy positions.
