Growing Notes

  • Sow from late summer to winter in the coolest practical regional window.
  • Use sun to partial shade in cool weather and protect plants from hot afternoon sun.
  • Sow one seed per cell without soaking or chilling; lightly cover with about 3 mm of fine mix or vermiculite.
  • Keep evenly moist at 18–21°C. Light is optional while the seed is covered; breeder-controlled germination is 3–4 days, but allow up to 14 days in fluctuating home conditions.
  • Harden seedlings for 5–7 days, then plant 15 cm apart, or 20 cm where extra airflow is needed.
