Growing Notes
- Loosen the final bed to about 30 cm, remove stones and clods, and rake a level, fine surface.
- Direct sow 3 mm deep. Keep the shallow seed zone continuously moist through the full packet germination window.
- When seedlings are about 2–3 cm tall, snip extras rather than tugging neighbouring taproots; finish at 5 cm spacing.
- Water evenly for uninterrupted root growth, weed shallowly, and avoid fresh manure, unfinished compost and excess nitrogen.
