Quick Grow Facts

  • Plant Type: Cool-season herbaceous perennial, usually grown as an annual or biennial bedding plant.
  • Scientific Name: Bellis perennis, Bellissima™ series.
  • Seed Form: Pelleted seed; available as 10 or 500 pellets.

  • Position: Full sun in cool weather; morning sun with light afternoon shade in warmer areas.
  • Sow Depth and Light: Cover shallowly with medium-grade vermiculite or fine mix. Light is not required for germination.
  • Germination: 3–5 days under controlled conditions at 18–22°C; variable home trays may take longer.

  • Growth Form: Compact, low mounds; no support or pinching required.
  • Height and Spread: About 15–25 cm high and 13–20 cm wide.
  • Flowering: Allow roughly 13–20 weeks from sowing, depending on temperature and establishment.

Why Grow Bellisima White

  • White flowers brighten patios and balance stronger winter colours.
  • Fully double blooms create a neat, pompon-like display.
  • Pelleted seed supports accurate cell-by-cell sowing.
  • Compact plants suit pots, window boxes and low edging.

Growing Notes

  • Sow one pellet per clean cell and keep the coating evenly moist until it breaks down.
  • After emergence, provide bright light and gradually cooler, airier conditions.
  • Transplant once roots hold the plug together, usually after about 5–6 weeks, then harden off.
  • Keep the crown level with the soil and use fertile, well-drained ground.
  • Remove rain-damaged blooms promptly and widen spacing in humid gardens.
