Asparagus Sprengerii Fuzzyfern Frizz Seed produces fine, frizzy asparagus-fern foliage for hanging baskets, mixed containers and indoor planters. It is a practical textural plant for growers who want reliable seed-raised foliage with strong decorative value.

  • Plant Type: Evergreen trailing ornamental perennial foliage plant.
  • Scientific Name: Asparagus densiflorus 'Sprengeri' type

Growing Information

  • General Sowing Time: Spring to early summer; warm protected sowing can also be used from spring to autumn.
  • Position: Full sun, light shade or semi-shade; protect from harsh afternoon sun in hot containers.
  • Sow Depth: Sow in moist seedling mix and cover lightly.
  • Spacing: 45-60 cm apart for groundcover use; one plant can fill a hanging basket or feature pot.
  • Germination: Sow cleaned seed in a warm, moist medium around 25 C; germination can be slow and variable.
  • Height: About 60 cm high with arching stems that can reach about 1 m.
