Why Grow Antirrhinum Madame Butterfly Mix?

  • Distinctive azalea-shaped snapdragon flowers in a mixed colour blend.
  • Excellent for cottage-style beds, borders and seasonal container displays.
  • Good cut-flower potential for cheerful home-grown vase arrangements.
  • Upright plants add height and structure without taking over the garden.
  • Pairs beautifully with pansies, violas, petunias and other cool-season flowers.

Garden Uses

Use Madame Butterfly Mix in mixed borders, cottage-garden beds, large containers and picking gardens. The mixed colours work especially well where you want a softer, more informal snapdragon display rather than a single-colour block.

Growing Notes

  • Start in trays or small pots rather than direct sowing into the garden.
  • Keep the seedling mix moist but not soggy, and water gently while seed is germinating.
  • Harden off seedlings before transplanting into beds or containers.
  • Deadhead spent blooms to encourage a longer flowering season.
  • Protect young plants from hard frost and give light afternoon shade in very hot areas.
