Quick Grow Facts
-
Crop: Snack Red, a sweet edible potted Capsicum annuum pepper.
-
Growth form: Compact branching plant, around 30–35 cm tall in breeder guidance.
-
Sow: Start about 6 mm deep in free-draining mix under protection. Keep the root zone warm, around 27–32 °C for general pepper propagation, and evenly moist.
-
Plant out: Harden off for outdoor growing after frost risk passes; indoors provide a bright sunny position.
-
Container: Grow in a free-draining pot about 13–17 cm across or larger; water when the surface starts to dry.
-
Harvest: Snip firm fruit green or wait for its sweet red ripe colour.
Give the pot fertile mix, adequate light and even moisture without waterlogging. Support stems if fruit weight makes them lean. Wash fruit before eating fresh or grilled; sowing seed is for planting, not eating or sprouting. Brought to you by Ubuntuberg Seeds.
