Quick Grow Facts
-
Crop: California Wonder sweet bell pepper, Capsicum annuum.
-
Season: start under warmth; plant outside only after frost risk has passed and soil has warmed.
-
Sowing: cover seed about 6 mm deep in clean, free-draining mix. Keep it warm and evenly moist, not saturated.
-
Seedlings: provide strong light after emergence, pot on when true leaves develop and harden off gradually before planting out.
-
Position and care: full sun, freely draining soil and steady root-zone moisture. As general bell-pepper guidance, allow around 30–60 cm between plants, adjusting for mature spread, support and airflow.
-
Harvest: cut sound green fruit with clean snips, or leave fruit to ripen red on the plant. Timing varies with warmth and growing conditions.
For reliable fruit set, avoid cold transplants, waterlogging and severe moisture swings. If flowers drop or leaves spot, check weather stress, root-zone moisture and airflow before choosing any registered treatment.
