Why Grow Whittet Kikuyu
- Fast creeping growth forms a dense, springy and hard-wearing lawn.
- Strong recovery suits sunny play areas and recreational lawns.
- Wide adaptation supports performance in moist, fertile South African soils.
- Established runners repair bare patches during active warm growth.
Growing Notes
- Do not use Whittet for deep shade. Prepare a firm, weed-free seedbed and spread the measured seed evenly.
- Keep the surface evenly moist during emergence; after rooting, water more deeply and less often.
- Feed during active growth according to a soil test and lawn-fertiliser label.
- Delay mowing until rooted, remove no more than one quarter to one third at once, and expect winter dormancy after frost.
