Quick Grow Facts
-
Crop: Red Hot Cherry, a hot cherry-type Capsicum annuum pepper.
-
Growth form: Upright, branching fruiting plant; stake if heavy fruit or wind makes it lean.
-
Sow: Start about 6 mm deep in protected, free-draining mix. Keep it warm, around 27–32 °C for general pepper propagation, and evenly moist.
-
Plant out: Harden off before moving into sun after frost risk passes and soil warms.
-
Space: About 45–60 cm between garden plants, or grow one plant in a roomy, well-drained container.
-
Harvest: Snip firm fruit green or dark red; wash before pickling, roasting or stuffing.
-
Pack choices: 100 and 1,000 seed options are listed for this product.
Keep soil fertile, free-draining and evenly watered while fruit develops. Taste a small prepared piece to judge heat, wear gloves if chillies irritate your skin and wash hands and tools. Sowing seed is for planting, not eating or sprouting. Brought to you by Ubuntuberg Seeds.
