  • Useful for bedding blocks, borders and containers.
  • Also suited to cut-flower-style summer displays.

Garden Uses

Use Firestone Orange in sunny bedding blocks, vegetable-garden edges, containers or mixed annual borders alongside complementary warm and cool colours.

Growing Notes

  • Sow during spring to summer after frost risk has passed.
  • Position plants in full sun.
  • Sow about 5–6 mm deep in a fine mix, keep evenly moist until emergence, then give seedlings bright light.
  • Harden sturdy seedlings gradually before planting out after frost. Leave room for airflow and water at soil level where possible.
  • Remove faded flowers to encourage more bloom. For cutting, harvest with clean tools in the cooler part of the day and place stems in water promptly.
  • If the sap irritates your skin, wash with soap and water after handling; avoid touching your eyes while cutting or deadheading.
