Growing Notes
- Use clean cells and fine, freely drained seedling mix; sow one raw seed per cell and apply a loose cover about 1 mm deep.
- Keep the sown medium cool and evenly moist, never saturated; check development regularly.
- Transplant at four true leaves when roots hold the plug; acclimatise gradually. Keep crowns at soil level after planting.
- Use bright light, cool conditions, active airflow and the spacing above. Avoid warm, stagnant or winter-wet soil, which can weaken establishment or encourage decay.
- Ranunculus is ornamental and not edible. Sap may irritate skin and swallowed plant material may cause illness. Wear gloves when handling damaged plants, wash exposed skin, keep seed and plants away from children and pets, and seek medical or veterinary advice after suspected ingestion.
