Why Grow Poppy Colibri Arancio?
- Glowing orange flowers give strong colour without feeling heavy in the garden.
- Excellent cool-season cut flower for soft, airy bunches.
- Good choice for cottage gardens, mixed annual borders and container displays.
- Attracts pollinators during the cooler flowering season.
- Useful for gardeners wanting early-season colour before summer annuals take over.
Garden Uses
Plant Poppy Colibri Arancio in cool-season flower beds, cutting patches and patio containers where the orange flowers can catch low winter and spring light. It pairs beautifully with white, cream, blue, purple and soft pastel flowers.
Growing Notes
- Best grown through the cooler part of the year; flowering quality drops as heat and humidity increase.
- Direct sow where plants are to flower, or transplant very young seedlings with minimal root disturbance.
- Use fertile but free-draining soil and avoid waterlogged beds or pots.
- Water at soil level and keep evenly moist without leaving the soil soggy.
- Pick or deadhead regularly to encourage continued flowering.
