  • Growth type: True perennial bulbs with narrow leaves and cup or trumpet-centred flowers.
  • Position: Sun or light shade in fertile, free-draining soil; avoid deep shade and waterlogging.
  • Planting: Plant point-up at about three times the bulb height, with similar spacing, during suitable cool-season conditions.
  • Water: Water to settle, then during dry active periods; keep container mix moist but not saturated until foliage dies back.
  • Care after flowering: Deadhead faded blooms but leave green leaves untied until naturally yellow; reduce water during rest and divide crowded clumps as foliage fades.

Bulbs and plant material are harmful if eaten and may irritate skin. Keep labelled stock away from food, children and pets; wear gloves when handling.
