Why Grow Roman Chamomile

• Creeping stems create an aromatic perennial ground-covering patch.
• The low growth form suits borders, herb beds and containers.
• Flowers can be harvested, although Roman chamomile usually yields less and tastes more bitter than German chamomile.

Growing Notes

• Start in trays or small cells so the fine surface seed can stay evenly moist and weed-free.
• Transplant small intact plugs at 2-4 true leaves into light, free-draining soil.
• Keep the crown out of saturated soil and provide strong airflow in humid regions.
• Seed-grown flowering Roman chamomile is not the sterile non-flowering lawn cultivar 'Treneague' and suits only light foot traffic.
