Why Grow This Variety

  • Mixed single spurred flowers bring varied colour to vertical spaces.
  • Large round leaves provide a lush backdrop for the flowers.
  • Growth up to 2 metres suits trellises and fences.
  • The trailing form can also grow in large supported containers.

Garden Uses

Train Climbing Single Mix over trellises, fences, pergolas or arches, or grow it in a large container with support.

Growing Notes

  • Direct sow 10–20 mm deep once the soil is workable; keep evenly moist through germination.
  • Use 30–45 cm spacing and avoid rich, high-nitrogen feeding, which encourages leaves at the expense of flowers.
  • Provide a trellis or other support from the start for this climbing growth type.
  • Full sun gives the best flowering in cool to mild weather; afternoon relief can help during extreme inland heat.
  • Only eat flowers or leaves when the crop is correctly identified and has not been treated with products unsuitable for edible crops; do not rely on nasturtiums as complete pest control.
