Quick Grow Facts

  • Planting time: Spring, once local frost risk has passed and the soil has warmed.
  • Position: Full sun and fertile, well-drained soil.
  • Planting: Keep the tuber clump intact. Set it horizontally in a hole around 10–15 cm deep, with the crown and eyes facing upward; cover with soil.
  • Spacing: Allow about 45–60 cm, giving larger varieties more room. Install supports for taller dahlias at planting.
  • Water and care: Avoid saturating dormant tubers. Once shoots grow, keep soil evenly moist without waterlogging. Deadhead regularly and feed growing plants according to the fertiliser label.
  • Winter care: Let growth die back naturally; lift and store dry and frost-free where winter frost or wet soil threatens the tubers.

Keep dahlia tubers and plants away from pets; they are not suitable for pet consumption.
